Haida Gwaii offers some of the best salmon and halibut fishing in the world and when visiting Masset the fishing grounds are only minutes away. For smaller groups, ideally 2- 3 people, QCI Vacation Homes offers day charters on their 18-foot Lifetimer Offshore, also used as a tender for the Cuxhaven. The Lifetimer is an extremely stable boat and is compliant with all Transport Canada regulations. Completely set up for the serious fisher or for those who just want to get away for a day, the LIfetimer boasts an extremely large fishing area for the size of the boat. Since this boat is more economical to operate, QCI Vacation Homes can offer reduced rates for charters on this boat.
QCI Vacation Homes also offers daily fishing charters aboard the Cuxhaven Yacht, a 40-foot fast trawler built by Independent Shipwrights in Coombs, BC. Most of these boats are part of the tuna fleet off the west coast of BC however a handful were built as recreational yachts. These boats are very seaworthy and ideal for exploring the northern shores of Haida Gwaii in relative comfort. The Cuxhaven can be used as a fishing platform for the serious explorer or as a home base by towing a smaller sportfishing boat for the more serious fisherman. The Cuxhaven boat accommodates up to 7 fishermen (and women too!) for the day charters, or up to 4 for overnight fishing and sightseeing charters.
Just added this year is a smaller “Offshore” 18-foot Lifetimer aluminum boat that is the ideal boat to be towed behind the Cuxhaven and then used to explore or fish from, while the Cuxhaven is used as a home base.
